Recently, the children in Mrs. Deborah Starr's Pre-K Class at Dingess Elementary celebrated National Nutrition Month in March by inviting their friends from West Virginia WIC to their class. The students had a wonderful time learning about eating healthy and the benefits from it.

After reading the class a story, ladies Kelli Clay and Denise Jude from WIC, set up centers throughout the classroom that offered a great variety of fruits and vegetables. The students were given shopping baskets and were allowed to "shop" for the favorite items which were theirs to keep.

Each center offered information pertaining to those particular items, the class asked many questions and had an exciting time shopping.

At the end of the activities, Mrs. Staff's children were given take home bags that contained nutrition games and stickers, and a children's cookbook with great recipes to use in the classroom and at home.
