RAYMOND DESKINS

PECKS MILL, W.Va. - Mr. Raymond Deskins, 75, of Pecks Mill, was born April 19, 1933, at Crooked Creek, a son of the late Wallace and Hattie Simpkins Deskins. He departed this life Monday, June 16, 2008, at St. Mary's Medical Center in Huntington.'

Also preceding him in death was one daughter, Kimberly Dawn Deskins; one grandson, Timmie Lee Deskins; three sisters, Irene Nelson, Garnet Collins and Daisy Enoch, and four brothers, Clyde, Loran, Ralph and Carl Deskins.

Mr. Deskins was a retired engineer from CSX Railroad, a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean Conflict and a member of the Trinity Freewill Baptist Church at Henlawson.

Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Wanda Clark Deskins; four sons, Phillip (Kim) Deskins, Timmie (Sherry) Deskins, Mike (Kim) Deskins and Aaron Deskins, all of Pecks Mill; three grandsons, David (Heather Tomblin) Deskins, Mike Deskins and Jeremy Deskins, and one granddaughter, Carrie Dawn Deskins.

Services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 18, at the Evans Funeral Home and Cremation Services at Chapmanville with Rev. Jerry W. Vance officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery at Pecks Mill with Military Graveside Rites.

Visitation will be from 6-9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Evans Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Chapmanville is in charge of the arrangements.
