Verdunville Elementary and Wal-Mart celebrated Earth Day on April 22, 2008. Wal-Mart employees spent the day with the children planting flowers and trees to beautify the school grounds. Wal-Mart also gave an Earth Bag to each child for participating in the celebration. Employees had lunch with the children and played a friendly game of baseball to finish off a wonderful afternoon of fun and educating the children about Earth Day. Verdunville Elementary wishes to thank Wal-Mart employees and Manager Dwight Neal for the great day given to the students. Barbara A. Porter is the principal of Verdunville Elementary.
