CROWN, W.Va. - Dorothy Irene Clark, 75, of Crown, went to be with the Lord Thursday, June 26, 2008, from St. Mary's Medical Center at Huntington after a long illness.

Born June 27, 1932, at Harts, she was a daughter of the late Everett C. and Fara Belle Kelly Adkins. Also preceding her in death was her husband, James T. Clark; one son, Tommy Junior Clark; three brothers, Joe, Everett Jr., and Billy Adkins; three infant brothers and one son-in-law, Danny Crawford.

Sister Dorothy was a homemaker, who loved to cook and garden. She was a member of the Crown Freewill Baptist Church for over 40 years. Devoted to her family, Sister Dorothy was a loving and wonderful wife, mother and grandmother. She will be sadly missed.

Those left to cherish her memory include four daughters, Betty (Raymond) Duncan of Pt. Pleasant, Linda Crawford of Crown, Barbara Osborne of Lake and Donna (Michael) Plumley of Thomasville, N.C.; two sons, Danny (Janet) Clark of New Haven and Roger (Angela) Clark of Thomasville; one special daughter-in-law, Linda Clark of Gallipolis, Ohio; five sisters, Maggie Toppings and Mary Ruth Moore, both of Harts, Jean Booth of Dingess, Carol (Bill) Thurman of Arkansas, and Karen Voris of Detroit, Mich.; two brothers, Cecil Adkins of Detroit and Tom Adkins of Harts; 18 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.

Services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Sunday, June 29, at the Crown Freewill Baptist Church with Rev. Charles Vance officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Memory Gardens at Godby.

Pallbearers will be her grandsons and members of the Crown Freewill Baptist Church.

Visitation will be from 6-9 p.m. Saturday at the Krantz-McNeely Funeral Home at Man and one hour prior to services Sunday at the church.

Krantz-McNeely Funeral Home of Man is in charge of the arrangements.
