Logan is seeking its sixth straight District 2 championship and sixth trip to the state tournament in as many years.
Logan has won the 11-12 district title each year, starting in 2003.
Teams from Logan County have won eight straight district crowns in the 11-12-year-old bracket dating back to the beginning of the decade as Holden won titles in 2000 and 2001 and advanced to the state tournament and Chapmanville then took the 2002 title. It's been all Logan since.
The Logan All-Stars, however, must survive the Area 1-2 tourney which is scheduled to begin on Saturday. This year's five-team tourney is scheduled to be played at Chapmanville's Tracy Vickers Field.
This year's tournament begins on Saturday at 2 p.m. as host Chapmanville opens with Madison. Logan and Holden then play in the second contest at 4 p.m.
Then on Sunday, Omar faces Chapmanville at 2 p.m. and Logan squares off with Madison at 4.
The tourney resumes on Monday night as Holden plays Omar at 6 p.m. and Chapmanville faces off with rival Logan at 8.
Tuesday's games have Holden and Madison and Logan and Omar playing each other.
Then on Wednesday, the tourney concludes with the Holden-Chapmanville and Omar-Madison contests.
The top two teams advance to the 11-12 district tourney which is slated to be played at Big Creek in McDowell County beginning July 5.
In the four-team Area 3-4 tourney at Pineville, Man plays Big Creek on Saturday at 2 p.m. and Gilbert battles with Pineville.
On Sunday, Man and Pineville square off at 2 and Gilbert and Big Creek lock horns on 4.
The tourney concludes on Monday night with the Man-Gilbert and Pineville-Big Creek contests.
Also on Saturday, the 9-10 District 2 tourney is slated to get under way at Holden. Host Holden plays Man at 2 p.m., Chapmanville faces off with Madison at 4 and Mullens takes on Delbarton at 6.
