Miller selected as Miss WV Freedom Festival 2008

COALFIELD JAMBOREE - The Miss WV Freedom Festival pageant was a mixture of highs and lows Saturday night at the Coalfield Jamboree in Downtown Logan.

The highs came when the Logan High School Wildcats were honored for winning the 2008 West Virginia State AA Baseball Championship and when the winners were named for the multitude of titles for the Miss WV Freedom Festival royalty court.

The LHS Baseball Team was honored by being named the grand marshals for the festival parade to be held Saturday and were given sashes and scepters. City of Logan Mayor Serafino Nolletti presented the entire team with a Key to the City of Logan.

Taylor Miller of Chapmanville was selected as Miss WV Freedom Festival Queen 2008. As queen, Miller received a show crown, a $500 scholarship from Southern West Virginia Community and Technical College, a three-day reign over the festival and a bid to the State Pageant in January of 2009. Named as the queen
