Raymond Harold Koch, 27, of Whitman, was arrested in Logan County by the West Virginia State Police for petit larceny and possession of a controlled substance on July 3.
According to police reports, the complainant reported that she witnessed Koch "steal various items of scrap metal" from the victim and take it to his own residence.
"Upon contact with the accused, an officer safety pat down was conducted at which time a hard, round object was felt in the front right pants pocket of the accused, at which time the accused related it was prescription pain pills. Additionally, this officer discovered a pack of cigarettes which also contained a marijuana cigarette. A walk through of the residence of the accused was also conducted for additional suspects and weapons at which time two coils of copper wire were observed in plain view in the bathroom. The accused stated the rest of the material was located under the trailer."
Koch was booked at the Southwestern Regional Jail at Holden at 10:03 p.m.
