OMAR, W.Va. - Mae Boggs, 86, of Omar, left this world to be with her Heavenly Father Thursday, July 31, 2008 at her home.

Born March 16, 1922, she was a daughter of the late Roxie and Robert Meadows.

Mae was a member of Walnut Grove Freewill Baptist Church for 42 years where she was a faithful servant of the Lord.

Also preceding her in death was her husband, Milt; two sons, Larry Sr. and Don "Cigar" Boggs; one grandson, Martin David Mills; one great-grandson, Timothy Elkins II.; six sisters, Belle Meadows, Elizabeth Tomblin, Sarah Williams, Bessie Varney, Zelle McDonough, and Lillie Bowen Chafin, and five brothers, Willie, Claude, Wayne, Johnnie and Arnold Meadows.

Those left to cherish her memory include one sister, Gracie Lambert of Omar; two sons Eugene (Frankie) Boggs of Omar and Glenn (Janice) Boggs of Godby Heights; two daughters, Glenna Mills of Omar and Patty (Danny) Vance of Chauncey; two daughters-in-law, Margaret Boggs Holbrook and Elaine Boggs, both of Omar; nine granddaughters, Charlisa (Michael) Callaway, Melanie (Tim) Elkins, Doris (Richard) Reid, Angela (David) Rutherford, Kelli (Donald) Copley, Tammy (Paul) Scott, Crystal Bevins, Kathie (Ernie) Chambers and Amber Dotson (Jason Cook); five grandsons, Larry (Shannon) Boggs, Donald Boggs, Scott Boggs (Carolyn Newsome), Mark (Sherrie) Boggs, Tommy Dotson (Keisha Adams); 20 great-grandchildren, Shanna Callaway, Cody Mills, Larra and Emma Elkins, Daelen and Carson Boggs, Breanna Boggs Hileman, Gabriel Boggs, Kaci Farmer and Jameson Copley, Matthew Reid, Ashley, David, Daniel, and Lora Beth Rutherford, Tyler and Derick Scott, Taylor and BreAnna Bevins and Heather Chambers; several nieces, nephews, and more friends than could be counted.

Services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Monday, August 4, at the Walnut Grove Freewill Baptist Church with the Rev. Charles Blankenship and Rev. Wayne Meadows Jr. officiating.

Pallbearers will be Larry Boggs Jr., Mark Boggs, Rusty Accord, Tommy Dotson, James "Elkwood" Day, and Richard Reid Jr.

Honorary pallbearers will be Michael Callaway, Tim Elkins, Cody Mills, Danny Vance, Donald Boggs Jr., Scott Boggs, Paul Scott, Jason Cook, Jameson Copley, Daelen and Carson Boggs, Matthew Reid and David and Daniel Rutherford.

Collins Funeral Home of Switzer is in charge of the arrangements.
