GARRETTS FORK - The Chief Cornstalk District of the Boy Scouts of American will have their annual kick-off for 2008 this Saturday, August 9, from 2-6 p.m. at the Boy Scout Camp Chief Logan at Garretts Fork of Chapmanville.

Each family will need to bring a large portion side dish and a 2-Liter bottle of soda, the Chief Cornstalk District will provide hot dogs and Bug Juice

The pool, BB range, and archery range will be only open for registered Boy Scouts, Cub Scouts, Venturing Crews and registered leaders.

All leaders will need to bring an up-to-date yearly swim test form with a lifeguard's signature and current date. If you do not have this form the Scout will be considered a non-swimmer. All non-swimmers will only be allowed in the shallow end of the pool. However, there will be a BSA Swim Test from 1-2 p.m. There will be no swim tests after 2 p.m.

Family and tags are welcome but will not be able to swim in the pool. We will have activities for tags such as a slip/slide and water balloon activities. Other items to bring: towels, chairs or a blanket to sit on.

A parent/guardian is required to attend this event with their Scout. Everyone will need to check in at the mess hall before starting any/all activities for the day.
