EARLING - Four people were injured in a two-vehicle crash on Saturday at Earling.

Firefighters and paramedics rushed to help and the West Virginia State Police arrived on scene to investigate an automobile accident on old Route 10 near Man that sent four people to Logan Regional Medical Center.

A young child was one of the injured persons in the crash.

Traffic on both lanes was backed up for an hour while paramedics attended to the victims.

Ralph Gibson was reportedly the driver of one of the vehicles in the accident, a Grey Toyota pickup truck.

According to sources at the scene, Gibson may have fallen asleep at the wheel on his way home from work, and reportedly crossed the center line hitting a van that had three occupants inside.

All four were transported to Logan Regional Medical Center for treatment, but at press time, none were listed as being believed to have life-threatening injuries.
