ORIENT, Ohio - Kenneth "Ken" Tomblin, 67, of Orient, Ohio, passed away Saturday, September 6, 2008, at Mt. Carmel Medical Center.
Preceding him in death were his parents, Carlos and Ina Tomblin, and siblings, Opie Tomblin and Hedy Adkins.
Ken was a very intelligent and innovative man coming up with many ideas over his career working at Central Ohio Welding, Circleville Metal Works, Delaware Fabrication and lastly at Advanced Industrial Metal Fabrication, receiving many awards for his accomplishments through his career. He was a good father, but also a teacher of good values to his children and made them strong as they grew older. He enjoyed reading, playing guitar, working in the yard and in his pole barn.
Survivors include his loving wife of 46 years and caregiver for the past seven years, Peggy Conley Tomblin; son, Kenny (Jewell) Tomblin of Harts; daughter, Vickie L. Tuttle of Asheville, Ohio; grandchildren, Stephen Ray (Holly) Tuttle II and Heather Tomblin, both of Columbus, and Amanda Tomblin of Harts; great-granddaughter, Lydia Tuttle; siblings, Mildred Dalton, Arthur (Helena) Tomblin, Joann McCloud, Odie (Frances) Tomblin, Sandra (Roger) Kirk and Kelly (Greg) Browning, all of Harts, Madgeline Mullins of Lodi, Ohio, and Geraldine (John) Wright of Columbus; special friend, Mike Foster; special family member, Martha Adams, and many nieces, nephews, family, friends and neighbors who were very helpful during his illness.
Service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, September 11, the Hannah United Baptist Church in Harts. Interment will be at Tomblin Cemetery next to the church.
Visitation will be held from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. today at the Schoedinger-Norris Chapel, 3920 Broadway, Grove City, Ohio, and from 3-5 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday at the Hannah United Baptist Church.
