"They did great in their first game of the season against Logan and hopefully the season continues this way," Chapmanville coach Michelle Ball said. "We had to work a few glitches out in the first game of the match but once the girls got out there and warmed up they played a great game. Logan played a good game but the girls were determined and we knew that we could beat them. I was very proud of them and I'm very excited about the rest of the season."
Ball is in her second season as head coach of the Lady Tigers.
Chapmanville was scheduled to get back into action with Tuesday night's match at Sherman.
The Lady Tigers are scheduled to host Westside and Cardinal Conference foe Herbert Hoover on Thursday in a tri-match.
Chapmanville then plays at Poca on Sept. 16 and takes on St. Albans and Poca again on Sept. 18 at the Charleston Civic Center.
Logan, coached by first-year mentor Ernistine Conn, was slated to host Wayne on Tuesday but no results were reported to the Logan Banner. Logan goes to Tug Valley on Thursday, then hosts Tolsia on Sept. 16 and Sissonville on Sept. 18.
Man played at Westside on Monday and hosted Matewan last night, but, again, no scores or statistics were reported to the Logan Banner. The Lady Billies are slated to host Burch tonight and then host Iaeger on Sept. 16.
