U.S. District Judge David Faber in Charleston sentenced 37-year-old Matthew Cook Casey on Monday. Casey pleaded guilty to a federal kidnapping charge last November.
Casey had been previously sentenced to life in prison in state court in Kentucky for the December 2006 kidnap and rape of a Naugatuck woman from a Wal-Mart in South Williamson, Ky.
Prosecutors say after the woman escaped, Casey kidnapped and raped the Williamson girl the same day and drove her into Kentucky. Casey was captured near the Kentucky-West Virginia state line with the girl in his car.
His attorney has said Casey was under the influence of drugs.
