CHAPMANVILLE, W.Va. - Mrs. Elsie Dingess Conley, 89, of Chapmanville, was born March 15, 1919, at Yantus, a daughter of the late Charley and Harriett Robinson Dingess. She departed this life Saturday, September 13, 2008, at her residence.
Also preceding her in death was her husband, Richie Conley, in 1985; one son, Theodore Gordon Conley; three daughters, Nancy Lee Conley, Lissie (Clyde) Smith and Virgie Elkins; two sisters, Nancy Lee Dingess and Pat Ann Jimmie Conley; one brother, Harve Dingess; two grandsons, Clyde Darrell and Gary Lee Smith; one granddaughter, Melissa "Missy" LaDonna Workman and one niece, Jane Dingess.
Mrs. Conley was a homemaker and a gardener, and served the Lord for 26 years.
Survivors include her son, Ritchie Odell (Paulette) Conley of Statesville, N.C.; two daughters, Elaine Adkins and Polly (Vaden Jr.) Butcher, both of Chapmanville; one sister, Nora St. Clair of Chapmanville; 11 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; four special nieces, Teresa Conley Adkins, Molly Browning and Ruth and Ruby St. Clair, all of Chapmanville; two special nephews, Charley Conley of Defiance, Ohio, and Charles "Buddy" St. Clair of Chapmanville; those whom she loved so dearly, Dwight Dingess, Bobby and Sue Kinser, and Rex and Chris Stowers, and a host of other nieces, nephews, friends and family.
Services will be conducted 1 p.m. Thursday, September 18, at the Evans Funeral Home and Cremation Services at Chapmanville with Pastor John Stafford and Bro. Stanley Adkins officiating. Burial will follow in the Smith Cemetery at the Smokehouse Fork of Harts.
Pallbearers will be Faron Williamson, Jimbo Conley, Dwight Williamson, Wade Adkins, Tommy
