The era of Lincoln, Robert E. Lee and U.S. Grant returns to Chief Logan State Park when the Rebellion in the Hills Civil War Reenactment returns on Sept. 27 and Sept. 28.
This year's rebellion promises to offer more thrills, chills, excitement and fun than ever before.
Among this year's highlights will be Rick Garland's portrayal of Major-General J.E.B. Stuart. The famed general was not just a military man, but was also a piano player and well known baritone singer, traits Garland shares.
Garland's portrayal of Stuart features a blend of educational stories with entertaining songs.
"Ricks' show is a high energy, toe-tapping celebration of 19th century music and true historical sources," explained Jackie Tomblin, whose volunteers have been working on putting together the Rebellion.
Garland is the owner operator of "O'Be Joyful Historical Tours", and will be featured at the log cabin on Saturday, Sept. 27 from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.
Also on Sat., Sept. 27, a Ladies Formal Tea will be held at the log cabin featuring Joyce Browning's performance as Mary Todd Lincoln. Come early for a good seat to revisit a very special time in history. The public can also meet Mr. Lincoln, courtesy of reenactor Dennis Boggs, who brings Honest Abe to life in a stirring portrayal.
