Couple to wed October 11 - Michael and Claudette Vannatter of Christian would like to announce the forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Amber Dawn, to Clifford Lee Bartram, the son of Clifford and Marrietta Bartram, also of Christian. The couple will be joined in marriage on Saturday, October 11, 2008, at the Mallory Church of God with Rev. Michael Vannatter performing the ceremony. The couple's attendants will be: Maid of Honor, Josie New of Gilbert; Bridesmaid, Rebekah Bartram of Accoville; Flower girl, Hailey Wingler of Christian; Ring bearer, Tyler New of Gilbert; Best man, Joshua Bartram of Accoville, and Groomsman David Plumley of Cyclone. A reception will follow at the church. The couple will make their home at Christian.
One year anniversary - Richard and Travanna Deer of Logan recently celebrated their first anniversary. The couple wed September 1, 2007, at the Campus Church of God with Pastor Roger Stewart performing the ceremony. Their wedding attendants included Kay Ruck serving as maid of honor and bride's maids were Mindy Fox, Lisa Hicks, Melissa Luikart, Mikayla Krider and Megan Kiesel. Best man was Freddy Deer and groomsmen were Jay Brown, Alan Moore, Clayton Moore, Jonathan McNeeley and Frank Luikart. Flowers were of many varieties of fall flowers made by the bride where she put her college degree of floral design to work. The flower girls, Jenna Luikart and Chantelle Swords, tossed fall leaves as opposed to flowers. Flowers, surrounded by leaves, were placed in a Radio Flyer wagon in which ring bearer Grayson Tucker rode. Songs, which were sung by Carol Farley and Darci McClung, included a "Handful of Weeds" and "You're My Hero," both of which were recognition of their parents and "Yours, Mine and Ours" was sung at the beginning of the ceremony. I Corinthians 13 was read by a special friend during lighting of the unity candle. There was also a memorial candle in memory of the bride's Granny McLain and Grandpa Moore and the groom's Grandpa Brickles and Grandma and Grandpa Deer. Their cake, made by the bride's aunt and cousin, was a white offset three tier cake with white basket weave icing, and topped with similar to the flowers used in the bride's flowers and also had lights twinkling atop. Food for the reception included chicken trays, salad, finger sandwiches, veggie trays and other finger foods. Photography was by Gore Photography of Logan. The couple resides in Logan with their four dogs, Wyatt, Lady, Lil Bit and Nula, and their three cats, PJ, Spring and Gizmo. Travanna, the daughter of Richard and Beverly Moore, is employed with the Logan Animal Hospital as a vet tech and Richard, the son of Fred and Maxine Deer, is employed with Verizon. The couple took a honeymoon to Maine and spent their anniversary traveling through Michigan to Wisconsin.
Ellis-Roberts to wed Saturday - Millard "Bo" and Dorothy Ellis of Logan are pleased to announce the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Jennifer Kristen, to Ricky E. Roberts, the son of Gene and Ellen Roberts of Pipestem. The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Evelyn Brumfield of Whitman, the late Dewey Brumfield, the late Joe and Vada Ramsey of Monaville and the late Millard Ellis of Logan. Jennifer is a 1993 graduate of Logan High School, a 1996 graduate of Logan-Mingo School of Practical Nursing and a 2004 graduate of Southern West Virginia Community and Technical College where she earned her associate degree in nursing She is employed by AM FM as director of nursing services. The prospective groom is the grandson of the late Gus and Pearl Roberts of Panther and the late Burl and Mary Cline of Mohawk. Ricky is a 1981 graduate of Iaeger High School and a 1987 graduate of The West Virginia State Police Academy. He is employed by International Resource Partners Security Division. The couple will exchange wedding vows Saturday, October 11, at the Central United Baptist Church.
Back to the 60s - Everyone had a great time at a "Back to the 60s Tonight" themed party given for Linda Perry at her home on Big Ugly, July 26, for her 60th birthday. Everyone dressed the 60s style and danced to 60s music. Hostesses were Becky and Kayla Hinkle, Phyllis Hatfield, Martha Fields, Wilma Spaulding, Lorella Adkins, Doris Ritchie, Gloria Hunter and Angel Ritchie. The party was given by family and friends; artwork was by Pam McClure and photography was by Dreama Frye. Keyser children celebrate birthday - Recently celebrating their birthdays were Emma Grace and Cameron Keyser. Emma celebrated her first birthday on July 21 and Cameron celebrated his eighth birthday on August 1. Emma Grace and Cameron are the children of Mark II and Stacy Keyser of Stollings and the grandchildren of Mark and Kathy Keyser of Stollings, Crystal Block of Man and the late Virgil Block. Both children celebrated with parties attended by family and friends.
