The conviction stems from an investigation conducted by West Virginia State Police. Following the execution of a state search warrant, troopers located a videotape of a minor child engaged in sexually explicit conduct. Combs, whose voice and reflection in a mirror are both contained on the video, admitted he persuaded the minor victim to engage in such conduct for the purpose of producing a visual depiction.
Combs, who is scheduled to be sentenced on January 8, 2009, faces up to 30 years in prison and a $250,000 fine. The West Virginia State Police and the Federal Bureau of Investigation jointly conducted the investigation. Assistant United States Attorney Lisa G. Johnston is handling the prosecution.
