Today everywhere you look, someone has a cell phone attached to their ear. They like to talk while driving, in movie theaters, in restaurants, classrooms and even in church. I never have figured out what they have to talk about ... especially for hours on end. When talking doesn't satisfy the situation, we now have text messaging. It just seems as though we have the need to stay in touch with someone all the time.
As I was pondering this, I wondered what it would be like if we treated our Bibles like we treat our cell phones. Can you image people spending that much time in the Word everyday? Blows your mind doesn't it! Just imagine ...
What if we carried it around in our purses or pockets?
What if we flipped through it several times a day?
What if we turned back around to go get it, if we forgot it?
What if we used it to receive messages from the "text"?
What if we remembered the scripture as well as our phone numbers?
What if we treated it like we couldn't live without it?
What if we gave it to kids as a gift?
What if we used it when we traveled?
What if we used it in case of an emergency?
What if we would "text" message those who don't know our Jesus?
What if we would talk for hours with our friends about Jesus?
This is something to make you wonder ... where is my Bible? Well, one thing is for sure, unlike our cell phones, we don't have worry about our Bible being in a dead area where we can't get any reception or it being disconnected because Jesus has already paid the bill.
Had any dropped calls lately?
