This year marked a milestone in the Coal Area Original Toughman Contest with the 20th-annual event at Logan High School.

Local crowd favorite "Big Nasty" Carl Goff of Man didn't disappoint area boxing fans as he successfully defended his heavyweight championship on Saturday night with a unanimous decision victory over Huntington's Leron Washington in the finals.

Goff, who won the 2007 Coal Area Toughman heavyweight crown, went to Tunica, Miss., last spring to the World Toughman Championships where he lost a close split decision to the defending world champ.

Goff advanced to the championship round with a second-round TKO over Whitman's John Morrison on Saturday night.

In other championship bouts on Saturday night, Jordan "Showtime" Keaton of Huntington lost to Chapmanville's Chad Hensley in the middleweight finals in a split decision. Hensley is the younger brother to former Toughman and professional fighter Daniel Hensley, who served as a trainer this weekend at the Toughman.

In the light heavyweight title bout on Saturday night, Wilkinson native William Bradsher, known as "The Logan County Assassin," lost to Huntington's Jason Graham via TKO.

In the ring girl competition, Shalinda (no last name given) was the winner.
