On Sunday evening, September 28, the First Baptist Church of Logan hosted a Logan-Mingo Baptist Association Choir Sing.
The evening began with a welcoming and announcements by Dr. Gregg Hickman, pastor of First Baptist, followed by greetings to the association by Rev. Roger Tinnel.
After the invocation, everyone sang the hymns "All Hail the Power of Jesus Name" and "Come, Christians, Join to Sing."
Following the singing, there was an instrumental praise, two duets between Marjorie Oakley playing the organ and Edward Eiland playing the flute.
Everyone was then entertained with singing by choirs, trios, duets, and solos from the following churches: Connolly Memorial at Delbarton - Pastor Rev. Ron Page; First Baptist of Logan - Pastor Dr. J. Gregg Hickman; First Baptist of Matewan - Pastor Rev. Carl Butler; First Baptist of Kermit - Pastor Rev. Scotty Robertson; First Baptist of Man - Pastor Rev. Clyde Robertson; First Baptist of Williamson - Pastor Rev. Roger Tinnel, and First Christian of Logan - Pastor Dr. Charles Wood.
The entertainment, everyone sang a hymn of commitment and affirmation - "In My Heart There Rings a Melody."
There were approximately 110 people in attendance.
Following the service everyone was invited to the fellowship hall of the church for refreshments.
