Another Logan County Schools bus was hit this morning.

This time, the accident happened early this morning on Dingess Street in downtown Logan when a car struck the back end of a bus that had about seven students onboard.

None of the students nor the driver of the bus were injured, according to Logan County Schools Assistant Superintendent Jim Guy.

"It was a little fender bender," Guy said. "There was no damage to the bus and only minor damage to the car. We checked the children out and everyone was okay and we sent them on to school.

"The girl driving the car said she wasn't paying attention and was smoking a cigarette and she hit the bus. There was no damage to the bus at all and it pushed the front end of the car up a little."

Logan City Patrolman J.R. Adkins is the investigating officer and was busy working on the report this morning so details from the report were unavailable. The driver was not identified to The Logan Banner.

Logan City Police Chief E.K. Harper gave a few more details on the crash.

"A woman bent over to pick up a cigarette and let her foot off the brake and she ran into the bus," Harper said.

"None of the kids were hurt."

Harper said the woman driver may be cited in the crash.

It was not known as of press time if the driver suffered any injury.
