MAN, WV - Pauline Dials, 72, of Man, departed this life Friday, December 5, 2008, at Logan Regional Medical Center at Logan after a long illness.
Born August 24, 1936, at North Fork, she was a daughter of the late Phillip and Carmella Notchie. Also preceding her in death was her husband, Roy Dials Jr., on October 12, 2004; two sisters, Mary Cosentino and Makina Murray, and three brothers, Johnny Notchie, Pat Notchie and Rocky Notchie.
Polly worked as a lab technician for Man Appalachian Regional Hospital and the Community Health Foundation for over 30 years.
Those left to cherish her memory include three children, Stephanie Bassham and her husband, Alan, of Norwich, Conn., and their two children, Jake and Isaac, William Phillip Dials of Hickory, N.C., and his son, Matthew, and Jo Beth Adkins and her husband, Steven, of Fort Bragg, N.C., and their two children, Trey and Julianna; two brothers, Larry Notchie and Fred Notchie and his wife, Edith, of Logan; one sister, Josephine Sigmon of Logan; a special cousin, Katie Albanese of Odenton, Md.; her best friend, Ginny Vinson Messer of Accoville; her extended family, Sondra Banks Gragg and Brittany Banks, both of Maiden, N.C., and many nieces and nephews.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Fred and Edith Notchie and Ginny Vinson Messer for their devoted care of our mother. We cannot express our gratitude enough. You truly made a difference in her life.
Services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Tuesday, December 9, at the Krantz-McNeely Funeral Home at Man with Father Tom Charters officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery at Pecks Mill.
Pallbearers will be family members and friends.
Visitation will be from 6-9 p.m. Monday and one hour prior to services Tuesday at the funeral home.
