Mayor Serafino Nolletti said the same company that put on last year's pyrotechnics display would return this year, but this year the city won't get a discount on the fireworks show.
For the first time in many years, the fireworks will take place on July 4, which falls on a Saturday. Usually the fireworks have been held on the Saturdays preceding or following July 4.
The mayor said this year's show will cost the same but will have less fireworks in it as the city will not receive a discount for having the show on a day other than July 4.
"It will be done to music again," Nolletti said, adding he would like to have it broadcast over a local radio station. Nolletti said it would most likely be the radio station out of Matewan, as he had not heard anything back from WVOW.
"We will be competing with everybody else on our show this year," Nolletti added, explaining that in past years visitors from Man and Chapmanville often visited Logan for the show after they had enjoyed their own.
