Christmas is coming, and that means seeing Santa arriving on his sleigh during the annual Christmas parade. I was so excited to take my little girl to see all the lights and floats, and she was really getting into the spirit of the parade, but what happened? What has happened to everyone's Christmas spirit?
We came early to get a good spot, but there were hardly any people on the street. There were very few participants in the parade. It was more like a display of fire trucks with a marching band in the middle! I was glad to see who came and joined in, but also disappointed that more did not take the time to come. Was it the weather? Was it the time and day of the week?
In these tough economic times, communities need to pull together and join in, and get in the holiday spirit. I hope next year, more organizations will participate!
