Erwin-Vance to wed - Craig Scott and Anita Erwin of Delbarton wish to announce the engagement and forthcoming wedding of their daughter, Sarah Ann Erwin, to Joseph Vance. The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Billie and Mary Lillian Brumfield and Audra Erwin Calton, all of Delbarton. She is a 2003 graduate of Burch High School and a 2008 graduate of West Virginia University with a Masters Degree in Occupational Therapy. Sarah is currently employed as an occupational therapist at Logan Regional Medical Center. The prospective groom is the son of Danny and Barbara Vance of Wilkinson and the grandson of the late Bryan and Irene Vance and the late Riley and Wilma Browning, all of Wilkinson. He is a 2000 graduate of Logan High School and a 2005 graduate of West Virginia University Institute of Technology with a bachelor's degree in civil engineering. Joseph is currently employed as a project engineer for Mingo Logan Coal Company. Sarah and Joseph will be united in holy matrimony at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, January 10, 2009, at the Mona-Hill Memorial Freewill Baptist Church in Monaville. The gracious custom of an open ceremony will be observed. The couple will reside in Wilkinson.

Introducing - Abigail Grace Lowe was born November 6, 2008, at Logan Regional Medical Center. She weighed 7 pounds, 13 ounces and was 21 inches long. Abigail is the daughter of Matthew and Amanda Lowe of Robinette and the granddaughter of Buddy and Gail Grimmett of Greenville and Robert and Ada Lowe of Accoville. Her great-grandparents are Millard and Gerelene Hall of Greenville, the late Jesse Grimmett, Sue Blankenship of Kistler, the late Lewis Blankenship, Margaret Lowe of Lundale, the late Lawyer Lowe, Evelyn Mays of Lundale and the late Leroy Mays. Her special uncles and aunts include Jon and Kelli Grimmett of Greenville and Joshua and Ashlie Lowe, currently serving in the U.S.M.C. stationed in Hawaii and Anissa Williamson. She has a very special cousin, Kaylie Meade, and a host of other friends and family who adore her.

Trevon celebrates first birthday aboard cruise ship - Trevon Scott Chapman celebrated his first birthday on November 8, 2008. He is the son of Sarah Chapman and the grandson of Joseph S. and Myrna Chapman. Trevon celebrated his birthday aboard the Carnival Cruise Line "Splendor" with his family and new friends on the ship.
