The Tigers ended up clawing their way to a 1-stroke win, 150-151, over Scott.
Chapmanville led by six strokes with each team having one golfer each still on the course, but that all changed when Scott’s Alex Boggs turned in a round of 36, thus giving the Skyhawks a 2- stroke lead at the time.
Moments later the Tigers’ Tyler Collins finished his round with a 39 giving CRHS the 1-shot victory.
Kelli Garrett and J.T. Lester each fired 36 to lead the way for the Tigers, followed closely by Collins and William Copley with 39 each. Jacob Workman carded a 42 and Casey Vance had a 48.
Scott was led by Boggs’ 36, Chad Honeycutt’s 37, Matt Dolan’s 38 and Nick Lambert’s 40.
Tug Valley was the third team in the match with a score of 237.
Joe Deskins led Tug Valley with a 37.
All three teams will be back in action Monday in Class AA regional tournament play at Big Bend.
