Couple to wed November 11 - Alva Dean and Patricia Kolovich of Holden are delighted to announce the upcoming marriage of their daughter Shanda Dawn Kolovich, to Golden Michael Collins, son of Michael and Darlene Hartwell of Verdunville, and the late Golden L. Collins of Mud Fork. Shanda is a 2001 graduate of Logan High School and a 2007 graduate of the University of Charleston where she received a bachelor's degree in nursing. She currently works as a tanning consultant at Image Sun of Logan while preparing for future educational opportunities. Michael graduated from Logan High School in 1997 with emphasis on vocation technology and has completed coursework at DeVry Institute of Technology in Columbus, Ohio. Michael currently works child care relief for The West Virginia Children's Home Society of Holden. The happy couple will exchange vows Friday, November 11, 2011, at the Verdunville Church of God. An open church ceremony will be observed with an invitation only reception to follow at "the Barn" in Peach Creek. The couple will reside in Mud Fork.

25th wedding anniversary - Richie and Easter Hager of Earling celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary on November 2, 2011. They are the proud parents of Jonathan Hager of Earling and Frances (DJ) Daniels of Danville and grandparents of Michael Hopson, Raylin Brooke Hope Hager and Kirsten and Alyssa Daniels. Richie is the son of Richard Hager of Matewan and the late Ann Hager of Earling. Easter is the daughter of Pauline Chapman of Amherstdale and the late Sylvester Chapman of Earling. The couple was united in marriage on November 2, 1986, by the late Bobby Smith.
