PECKS MILL — The annual WE CAN Christmas Toy Drive, hosted by Forest Lawn Cemetery, is now going on. Forest Lawn has been hosting the annual toy drive in conjunction with their annual holiday Candlelighting Ceremony for several years.

According to Ellen Browning, director of the local WE CAN program, there are more than 370 children in the program this year. Toys and gifts for all ages, especially teenagers, are needed.

There are also Memory Trees, one outside on the grounds, and one inside the Mausoleum. When bringing ornaments for the Memory Trees, remember the children in the WE CAN program by donating a new toy or a monetary gift for Christmas. Gifts may be left inside the cemetery office.

Donations may also be dropped off during Forest Lawn's annual Candlelighting Ceremony set for Fri., Dec. 9, beginning at 7 p.m. Volunteers are needed to help light the candles and are asked to come at 3 p.m. and bring a long lighter.
