60th wedding anniversary - Ralph and Nora Bailey of West Logan celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary Thursday. The couple was married December 22, 1951. They are the parents of Ralph Charles Bailey of Mossy and Wendy Bailey (Mike) Williams of Chapmanville. They are the grandparents of Whitney Williams Adams of Chapmanville and the late Jennifer Marie Williams. They have one great-granddaughter, Emilee Savannah Adams. 

Peyton-Boehm to wed Dec. 31 - Julie Peyton of Chapmanville and Bobby Boehm of Lake are proud to announce their engagement and forthcoming wedding set for Saturday, December 31, 2011. The bride-elect is the daughter of the late Gene Allen Peyton and Anita Louise Kirk. She is the granddaughter of Johnny "Allen" Peyton and Juanita "Jewell" Peyton of Chapmanville. Peyton is the mother of Autumn, age 7, and Ethan, age 5. She is a student at Southern West Virginia Community and Technical College where she is pursuing a degree in Medical Laboratory Technology. She is employed at Logan Center Nursing Home on Three Mile Curve as a Certified Nursing Assistant. The prospective groom is the son of Margaret Boehm-Jeffrey and Roosevelt Jeffrey of Lake, and the brother of Billy Jeffrey of Chapmanville. He is employed by Alpha Natural Resources and a member of the Mt. Carmel Freewill Baptist Church at City View where he pursues his goal to become a deacon in the near future. He also serves as a volunteer firefighter for the Lake Volunteer Fire Department.
