CLEVELAND, Ohio — Mr. Walter Scaggs, 69, of Cleveland, Ohio, formerly of Chapmanville, was born June 9, 1942, at Chapmanville, a son of the late Edwin and Elva Adams Scaggs. He departed this life Tuesday, January 3, 2012, at his residence.

Also preceding him in death were his brothers, Ray, Earl (Vonnie), Everett, Kelly, Waid and Linvel and his in-laws, Nancy Scaggs and Fred Squires.

Mr. Scaggs was a retired engineer with the B&O and CSX Railroads.

Surviving are his daughter, Karen Sue (Kevin) Mckean of Barboursville; brothers, Osie, Frank (Annalou), Charlie (Annie) and Clinton (Sada) Scaggs, and sisters, Iva Squires and Geneva Kelly, all of Ohio; several nieces and nephews; his love and lifetime partner, Brenda Kay Dewine, and his sisters-in-law, Helen Scaggs and Nancy Scaggs, both of Ohio.

Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, January 9, at the Scaggs Family Cemetery at Caney Branch of Chapmanville.
