There were 22 students on board and headed for home when a car came around a curve near the old Big Creek Grade School and crashed into the front end of the bus, Logan County Schools Superintendent Wilma Zigmond said this morning.
Zigmond said none of the children were injured and all were checked by emergency medical crews and sent home.
"We had a bus wreck down at Big Creek and nobody was hurt. There were children on the bus, but none were injured," Zigmond said. "It didn't do much damage to our bus, but I'm sure it did to the little car that hit it. A car came around the curve and apparently hit the front of the bus.
"Everybody checked out okay. I think the lady came around the curve on the wrong side. She hit the front of the bus. It was yesterday evening and the bus was taking 22 students home."
The school bus crash is the first of 2012.
The name of the driver was not available as of this morning’s deadline. It was also not known if the driver of the car was injured.
