HARTS, W.Va. — Robert Bryant, 85, of Harts, departed this life Wednesday, January 11, 2012 at Logan Regional Medical Center.

Born June 26, 1926, in Logan, he was a son of the late Alonzo and Weltha Bryant. also preceding him in death were his grandparents, Dave and Rosie Bryant and Paris and Mary Hensley; his wife, Eunice Bryant; two grandsons, Bubber Bryant and Dewayne Casto; one granddaughter, Christy Casto; one daughter-in-law, Judy Bryant; four brothers and sisters, Mable Sheppard, Thomas Bryant, Edith Bryant and Richie Bryant, and his father and mother-in-law, Floyd and Bertha Conley.

Robert enjoyed going to church and coal mining. He was a member of Local Union 5958.

Those left to cherish his memory include five daughters, Nancy (Charley) Casto and Retha (Virgil) Black, both of Harts, Edith (Luther) Whittington of Liberty, Vellecca (Bobby) Dixon of Madison and Teresa (Sherman) Crum of Chapmanville; five sons, Curtis Bryant of Holden, Hurtis (Lottie) Bryant of Whitman, Jerry (Janet) Bryant of Chapmanville, Douglas (Mary) Bryant of Mud Fork, and Mickey (Becky) Bryant of Harts; two sisters, Kathleen (Lawrence) Farley of Harts, and Martha Jarrell of Big Creek; three brothers, Leon Bryant, Troy (Alice) Bryant and Homer (Rose) Bryant, all of Harts; 24 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Sunday, January 15, at Mt. Home Freewill Baptist Church at Buck Fork of Harts with Agie Bryant and Ira Pet Bryant officiating. Burial will follow at Conley Cemetery at White Oak-Buck Fork Gap at Harts.

Pallbearers will be his grandsons, Timothy Casto, Jeff Allred, Jason Bryant, Albert Bryant, Josh Adams, Jeromey Crum, Brandon Bryant, Jerry Bryant Jr., Catlin Bryant and Mickey S. Bryant.

Honorary pallbearer will be Virgil Black Jr.

Visitation will be from 6-9 p.m. Saturday at Freeman Funeral Home.

Freeman Funeral Home of Chapmanville is in charge of the arrangements.
