Murphy, backed by the Sweet Lips Band, performed his full concert for the packed house at the Chief Logan Convention Center. He also did a few comedy bits to the delight of the crowd.
Logan County Chamber of Commerce Director Debrina Williams said the night was full of fun.
"I think everybody enjoyed Landau's performance," Williams said. "He's just fun. Not only does he have tremendous singing ability, but he could also be a standup comedian."
The Logan County Chamber of Commerce recognized Logan Bank and Trust President Eddie Canterbury for his work in the community. Canterbury was presented the Distinguished Service Award by Chamber President Jim Frye.
Tickets to the event were sold out well in advance of the show.
Chamber members and other distinguished guests were treated to a meet and greet session prior to the show in the West Virginia room of the Chief Logan Lodge.
Logan County Delegate Rupert "Rupie" Phillips brought several House of Delegates members with him to see the show, including House Majority Leader Harry Keith White, newly-appointed Mingo County Delegate Justin Marcum and Lincoln County Delegate Josh Stowers.
First Lady Joanne Tomblin attended the pre-show reception, the meet and greet and the dinner. She applauded Murphy throughout the concert.
Murphy performed duets with his wife, Jennifer, and Misty Daniels from Pikeville, Ky., who is performing with Murphy on his tour.
The Logan County crooner also signed autographs after the show.
