www.loganbanner.com, the area's premier Website for local news, sports and advertising specials, has revamped its look.

And that means an even more informative, easier-to navigate Website for the nearly 50,000 unique monthly visitors to the site.

The layout will be cleaner, with more ways for viewers to find the news they want from the main page. Major news and sports stories will be highlighted by a marquee scrolling on the front page. New contests, reader participation features, and advertising sections will be readily available.

For those of you who already have user accounts for comments, e-editions, and other sections of the website, those processes will not change.

“We have experienced such strong growth with loganbanner.com, with our number of unique visitors, visits and page views continuing to climb,” said Fred Pace, Executive Editor for The Logan Banner and www.loganbanner.com. “The new website is our next step in serving these customers. They will find it easy to use and even more informative than in the past.

“We're also excited to increase our live-streaming offerings, additional contests, and new interactive online magazines. Our mission focuses on providing 24/7 news and business offerings to area residents through our printed newspaper, magazine products, and our online services,” he said.

Visitors to the new loganbanner.com community will find the site more user-friendly, allowing viewers to upload comments, questions, their own stories, photos, even videos to the website. This is where viewers from around Logan County, and beyond, can meet to develop their own, online content.

“In addition to the numerous changes to reader's computer browser experience, our mobile readers will experience a vastly improved product optimized and delivered to their mobile devices, including smartphones and tablets,” said Matt Swanson, director of new media programs for Heartland Publications.

Additional changes planned down the road include improved subscription and classified account management systems, improved photo reprint ordering, and improved email products.

Advertisers will find the site much cleaner, and while there may not be quite as many advertising positions, those available will be integrated into the editorial content, giving readers an easy-to-use experience while offering advertisers better, stronger access to online readers.

Yes...I can second what the first person said! What I would like to personally see is more reader participation. This could indeed include a guest list as the first person wrote. I met an old school mate that way. The only problem with those things is they have to be monitored for content. Some may not know this, but not everything I wrote got printed. I'm still looking things over, but so far everything looks fine. A suggestion: maybe a photo gallery could be included.
