FORT CAMPBELL, Ky. Chief Warrant Officer 3 Richard Leroy Morris III deployed to Afghanistan with the 716th Military Police Battalion in support of Operation Enduring Freedom in January as the senior Battalion Maintenance Officer.
This is the 5th deployment for Morris, however it is his first to Afghanistan. His other deployments include two tours to Iraq, Haiti and Macedonia with the 82nd Airborne Division and one tour to Iraq with the 525 Military Intelligence Brigade.
Morris has proudly served in the US Army for 18 years as a maintenance technician. He is currently stationed at Ft. Campbell, Ky. Other duty stations included Ft. Bragg, N.C., and Germany.
Morris is the son of Joseph and Gail Farmer of Henlawson.
His family and friends are very proud of all his accomplishments and the dedication he has to his country including his wife, Nicole, and son, Joseph Theodore Morris.
"I am very proud of my airborne soldier fighting for his country," said Mrs. Morris, "He truly is my hero."
