Born December 7, 1920, he was a son of the late Frank and Myrtle Booth Means. Also preceding him in death was his wife, Joan Scaggs Means; one sister, Pansy Pelfrey, and brothers Obie and Edward Means.
Con was a retired coal miner and electrician, formerly employed by Elkay Mining and Pittston Coal Company and a member of the UMWA. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Logan for 57 years where he served as a Deacon. Con enjoyed hunting and watching his favorite baseball team the Cincinnati Reds.
Survivors include his sisters, Leahonia Boarders of Medina, Ohio, and Donna Jean Herbert of North Ridgeville, Ohio; one brother, James B. Means of Sebastian, Fla.; his special great-nephew and great-niece, Neal Scaggs III and Katie Scaggs that he loved spending time with, and his dear friends, Raymond and Pat Marcum, Mary Lemaster and Jean Booth.
Services will be conducted at noon Thursday, February 16, at the First Baptist Church in Logan with Dr. J. Gregg Hickman and Rev. Tim Barnhouse officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery at Pecks Mill.
Pallbearers will be Neal Scaggs III, Michael Winter, Matt Burkhammer, Brent Bradley, Ross Scaggs, Tommy Keeney, and Raymond Marcum.
Visitation will begin one hour prior to services Thursday at the church.
In lieu of flowers, the family request memorial contributions to the First Baptist Church of Logan, 423 Main Street, Logan, WV 25601.
