Born October 8, 1930, in Ameagle, he was a son of the late Emil and Hattie Burgess. Also preceding him in death were his siblings, Denny Burgess, Lester Burgess and Delma Jarrel.
Oscar retired from the U.S. Air Force after 26 years.
Survivors include his loving wife of 40 years, Yvonne Browning Burgess; four children, Sue Ann Burgess, Gregory (Revonna) W. Browning, Billy (Benita) Eugene Burgess and Oscar Darren Burgess; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and siblings, Linda Milam, Delores Burgess and Gerald Burgess.
Graveside services will be held at noon Thursday, February 23, at Dayton National Cemetery, 3100 E. Third St, Dayton, Ohio.
