PEACH CREEK, W.Va. — Mr. George Thomas “Tom” Caldwell, 75, of Peach Creek, departed this life Monday, March 12, 2012, at Logan Regional Medical Center.

Born October 23, 1936 at Lyburn, he was a son of the late Everett and Faye Buchannon Caldwell. Also preceding him in death was one brother, Everett Caldwell Jr., and two sisters, Thelma Conn and Lenora Mullins.

Mr. Caldwell was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corp, a retired coal miner and retired from the Logan County Sheriffs Department where he was a process server. He was a member of Nighbert Memorial United Methodist Church, UMWA Local 5958, Aracoma Lodge No. 99, Logan Scottish Rite Bodies, and was a 32nd degree Mason.

Survivors include his wife, Carol “Sue” Caldwell; children, Thomas Dwayne (Patricia) Caldwell of Ferrellsburg, James David (Tara) Caldwell of Plant City, Fla., and Darrell Keith (Kathy) Mullins of Lyburn; four grandchildren; one great-grandchild; brothers, James Caldwell and Roger (Margaret) Caldwell, both of Lyburn, and Carl (Judy) Caldwell of North Carolina; sisters, Peggy Blair and Shirley Beavers, both of Lyburn, and Ila Harvey of Ohio; two very special friends and fishing buddies, James Melvin Caldwell and Allen Ryan, and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

Memorial services will be held at a later date.

Evans Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Chapmanville is serving the Caldwell family.
