Born August 22, 1958, in West Hamlin, he was a son of Mary Hager Butcher of Crawley and the late Vaden Butcher.
Also preceding him in death were his grandparents, Lured and Pearl Butcher and Coonie and Annie Hager, and his father and mother-in-law, Richard and Joyce Frazier.
Boogie enjoyed driving a truck, attending church at Crawley Creek Church of God, his pets and spending time with family and friends.
Additionally, those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Billie Cook Butcher; two sons, Shane Michael Butcher and Anthony Allen Cook; one sister, Sharon Rose Butcher; three brothers, Darrell, Vaden Jr. and Mark Butcher; one aunt, Annabelle Neil; one cousin, Doris Ann Neil; brothers and sisters-in-law, Jake and Patty Icenhour, Brian and Carolyn Lilly, John and Fran Mounts, Richard and Lisa Frazier; nieces, Heather Lilly and Casey Frazier; nephew, Bruce Butcher and Gene Allen Butcher, and a host of other nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, March 16, at Freeman Funeral Home with Rev. Vivie Marcum officiating. Burial will follow at Highland Memory Gardens at Godby.
Visitation will be from 6-9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be John Mounts, Jake Icenhour, Brian Lilly, Mark Butcher, Bruce Butcher and Gene Allen Butcher.
Honorary pallbearers will be Bob Deskins, Rick Eskins, Chuck Bias, James Breedlove, Willis Marcum and Ron Stollings.
Freeman Funeral Home of Chapmanville is in charge of the arrangements.
