ROSSMORE, W.Va. — Denver Ray Mitchell, 64, of Rossmore, departed this life Monday, March 12, 2012, at Logan Regional Medical Center after a long illness.

Born January 1, 1948, at Monaville, he was a son of the late Joe and Madge Pritchard Mitchell. Also preceding him in death were three brothers, Eddie Mitchell, Dewey Mitchell and Joe Mitchell Jr.; two sisters, Virgie Mitchell Vanover and Arnie Mitchell Sweeny, and one niece, Madge Mitchell.

Mr. Mitchell was a retired machinist and of the Church of God faith.

Those left behind to cherish his memory include two brothers, Ernest (Carmel) Mitchell and Freddie (Resa) Mitchell, both of Switzer; one son, Jamie (Trisha) Hunter of Whitman; two daughters, Michelle and Kaci Dawn; one step-son, Chuckie; two sisters-in-law, Jackie and Dorthy; his ex-wife, Eloise Mitchell, and a host of additional grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends.

Services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, March 16, at the Collins Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor C.D. Wolford and Rev. Joe Pritchard officiating. Burial will follow at the Curry Cemetery in Rossmore.

Visitation will be 6-9 p.m. today at the funeral home chapel.

Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.

In lieu of flowers and gifts, the family is asking donations be made to Collins Funeral Home to help with funeral expenses.
