Born December 25, 1924, in Delbarton, he was a son of the late Charlie and Janette Marcum. Also preceding him in death was his wife, Lucille Marcum; two brothers, Ernest and Harrison Marcum, and three sisters, Carrie Marcum, Shirley Brown and Addy Bailey.
Wayne was a retired coal miner from Sharples Coal Company, and a member of Local Union 2935. He attended Monclo Church of God where he was a former superintendent.
Those left to cherish his memory include his sons, Michael (Olivia June) Marcum of Lake and Dwayne (Helen) Marcum of Alum Creek; one daughter, Janelle (Steven) Mullins of Winfield; five grandchildren, Herbert Mullins, Shane Marcum, Kyle Marcum, Austin Marcum and Amber Chafin and three great-grandchildren, Kayla Chafin, Ryan Chafin and Brooke Mullins. A special thank you to Kathy and Ray Gore his caregivers.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 17, at Honaker Funeral Home with the Rev. Danny Boyd officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery at Pecks Mill.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
