Andi Williamson has won another one for the Marshall University women’s softball team.
Williamson, a Chapmanville Regional High School graduate and Harts native, gave up just one run and two hits in Marshall’s 10-1, five-inning victory on Thursday night over regional opponent Morehead State at Marshall’s Dot Hicks Field.
Williamson improved to 17-11 on the season.
The Herd swept Morehead State, also winning 7-4 to improve to 27-18 on the spring.
“In the circle, Andi gave us good stuff in game one, while in the second game we got what we needed from Natalee (Pulver) and Erika (Bennett) was great coming in and shutting the door,” Marshall coach Shonda Stanton said.
In the first game, Marshall plated five runs in the second inning as Alliana Telles rapped out a two-run double and Jessica Hughes had an RBI double in the frame. Ashley Gue and Rebecca Gamby also supported Williamson with two more RBI singles in the inning.
Gamby later ripped a leadoff homer in the fourth inning, her fifth of the season.
