Man High School pitcher Taylor Tomblin led the Lady Billies to Tuesday night’s win at home over River View.

MAN — The Man High School girls’ softball team defeated River View 9-3 on Tuesday night at home to improve to 11-6 on the season.

Taylor Tomblin picked up the victory for the Lady Billies. Tomblin fired a three-hitter, striking out six and walking just three batters in the win.

Man banged out 17 hits in the blowout.
Leading the way was Cari Blair and Casey Albright with three hits each. One of Blair’s hits was a double.
Emilee Osborne, Tomblin, Micayla Gibson, Tabitha Ferguson and Madison Keffer each had two hits in the victory.
Summer Sword added a single, going 1-4 on the day.
The Lady Billies committed five errors in the game to two for the Raiders.
Man is set to play at Class AAA county rival Logan on Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. It will also be Logan’s Senior Night game.

Chapmanville 1
Herbert Hoover won 2-1 over Chapmanville Regional on Tuesday in a Cardinal Conference game at the Herbert Hoover High School softball field at Falling Rock.
The Huskies’ Lexi Lawrence blasted a two-run homer to account for Hoover’s two runs.
Heather Nagy went 2-for-3 with a double and an RBI for the Lady Tigers, which fell to 18-4 on the season. Chapmanville was coming off Monday’s dramatic 2-1 win at home in 10 innings over county rival Logan at home.
Chelsie Stover and McKenzie Edmonds each had a hit for Herbert Hoover (16-4).
The Lady Tigers are scheduled to host Wayne on Thursday in a 4 p.m. makeup game. CRHS is then slated to play at Poca later in the evening. Chapmanville hosts Lincoln County next Monday in the regular season finale before hosting Scott and Mingo Central in next week’s sectional tourney.
