On April 9th, Children’s Home Society of WV’s WE CAN program held one of the flag raising ceremonies in Man. April was Child Abuse Prevention and Awareness Month and in Logan County the Children’s Memorial Flag flew in different locations throughout the county to make the community aware of the appalling loss of young lives due to violence and preventable accidents and to remember these children. Several volunteers took time out of their busy lives to help with this event. Pictured, from left is Jacqueline Herman, CHS Advisory Board member Linda Dickerson, Carson Herman, CPS workers Ashley Pavlik and Jill Adkins, WE CAN program coordinator Ellen Browning, Pieces director Lisa Wimmer, U.S. Postal worker and Lion’s club member Chris Trent and Logan County Firefighter and Lion’s club member Joe Wimmer. Not pictured were Jennings Browning and Jeannie Christian. Pictured bottom, employees for Logan County Post Office raised their flag on April 13, 2012.
