LARRY HILL
NEIBERT, W.Va. — Larry Wayne Hill, 40, of Neibert, departed this life Wednesday, May 2, 2012, at Cabell-Huntington Hospital after a short illness.
Born December 31, 1971, at Lorain, Ohio, he was a son of Frank and Genny Grimmett Adkins of Neibert.
Preceding him in death was one brother, Frank “Pee Wee” Adkins III; his maternal grandparents, Lonnie and Nellie Altizer Bartram, and his paternal grandparents, Frank and Gladys Gearheart Adkins.
A 1991 graduate of Man High School, Larry graduated from the Boone County Trucking Academy in 1995. He started his career as a cross country truck driver and then became a coal truck driver to be closer to his family. A skilled carpenter, he was very particular about keeping his tools in pristine condition. Larry enjoyed fishing, swimming, riding his 4-wheeler, and “going up in the country”. Very family oriented, he loved spending time with his family and friends.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of nearly 18 years, Julie Hatfield Hill; his parents, Frank and Genny Grimmett Adkins of Neibert; two sisters, Rebecca (Raymond) Horton of Chesapeake and Nellie Adkins of Monitor; one brother, Peter John (Lorrie) Almodovar of Gilman Bottom; his parents-in-law, Thomas and Celia Russell Hatfield of Neibert; his grand-mother-in-law, Joyce Hatfield of Neibert; one sister-in-law, Tommie Alice (Brian) Garrett of Pecks Mill; seven nieces and nephews, Chad, Alexis, Shantelle, John, Shane, Skylar and Little Pee Wee; a special little buddy, Braxton Carroll of Ethel; a close buddy, Sidney Blevins of Texas; his canine companion, Choko; and his feline companions, Molly and Bit Bit, and a host of other relatives and friends.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, May 7, at Krantz-McNeely Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Sheldon Wells officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery at Pecks Mill.
Visitation will be held from 6-9 p.m. Sunday at the Krantz-McNeely Funeral Home and one hour prior to services.
Pallbearers will be family and friends.
