MT. GAY, W.Va. — Patricia “Patty” Blankenship, 62 of Mt. Gay. departed this life Wednesday, May 2, 2012, at Yolyn.

Born January 6, 1950, in Logan, she was a daughter of the late Howard and Easter Vinson Blankenship. Also preceding her in death was a brother, Arthur Blankenship.

Patty was a homemaker and was formerly active in Miss Softball America.

Survivors include one son, James (Madeline) Marcum of Chesapeake, Va.; two daughters, Aleshia (James) Hunter of Yolyn and Kathy (Vittorio) Distefano of Canton, Mich.; one brother, Richard Blankenship of Logan, five sisters, Brenda (Robert) Mendel of North Mitchell Heights, Carroll (Randy) Shell of Crooked Creek, Ruth (Randy) Caserta of Man, Marie (Glen) Lambert of Monitor, and Billie McComas of Michigan; grandchildren, Patrick (Anna Ball) Beddow, Megan Marcum, Cole Marcum, Tara McComas, Jessica McComas, Jeremy McComas, Brianna Distefano, Dylan Distefano, Christopher Ohagen, Zachary (Leigh) Hunter, and Micah (Christen) Hunter, one great-grandchild Robert Brian Bedddow.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, May 6, at Honaker Funeral Home with Pastor Johnny Faine officiating. Following services on Sunday Patricia will be cremated according to her wishes.

Visitation will be from 1-2 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
