HALLIE HATFIELD
MALLORY, W.Va. — Hallie Davis Hatfield, 99, of Mallory, traded her earthly home for her Heavenly home Sunday, May 20, 2012, at Logan Regional Medical Center.
Born September 18, 1912, at Verner, she was a daughter of the late Jess and Ocie Browning Davis.
Also preceding her in death were two daughters, Ruth Hatfield (Adam) Picchione and June Hatfield (Nick) Picchione; two sisters, Lola Lester and Bessie Tendale, and five brothers, Oscar, Aubrey, Ezra “Red” , Ora, and Gora Davis
Hallie was a loving mother, grandmother, great and great-great grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. At the age of 90, she retired as a cook for the members of the Stafford EMS who held a special place in her heart. A member of the Verner Community Church, she was such a wonderful, loving and kind lady and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Survivors include her sister, Beulah Poe of Gilbert; four granddaughters, Maria Hatfield, with whom she made her home, of Mallory, Janie Coates of Waynesburg, Ohio, and Missy Mason and Julie (Mark) Howell, both of Canton, Ohio; eight great-grandchildren; 15 great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews who loved her and thought of her as a grandmother; special neighbors, Lee and Billie Noel, who she considered as family, and a host of friends and loved ones.
In lieu of flowers, the family request donations to Mounts Funeral Home Inc. at P.O. Box 1567, Gilbert WV 25621, to help with funeral expenses.
Friends may gather with the family to celebrate Hallie’s life from 6-9 p.m. Thursday at the Verner Community Church.
The Celebration of Life will continue at 1 p.m. Friday, May 25, at the church. Burial will be in the Browning Cemetery at Verner.
Pallbearers will be family and friends.
