STANDARD MULLINS

CHAPMANVILLE, W.Va. — Standard “Stan” V. Mullins of Chapmanville passed away Monday, May 28, 2012, at the age of 86 following an illness at Logan Regional Medical Center.

Born December 17, 1925, in Ferrellsburg, he was a son of the late John “Doc” and Martha Mullins. Also preceding him in death was his wife of 35 years, Barbara M. Mullins; seven brothers, Mink Mullins and Tommy Mullins, both of Ferrellsburg, Vernon Mullins and Teaberry Mullins, both of Chapmanville, Jasper Mullins of Logan, Ira Mullins Hamlin and Jimmy Mullins of Madison, and two sisters, Roma Mullins of Chapmanville and Norma Mullins of Ferrellsburg.

Stan was a veteran of World War II, and survived his ship being sunk in the Philippines in 1943. A devoted Christian, he was baptized in the Church of Christ in Chapmanville in 1954. Stan celebrated his 35 year career as an electrician for CSX Railroad in Russell, Ky., retiring in 1989.

Survivors include his wife of 26 years, Mary Bell Mullins; three sisters, Mae Richardson of Huntington, Orpha Kirk of Ferrellsburg, and Flossie Davis of Detroit, Mich.; children Gary V. (Shannon) Mullins, Rick K. (Carol) Mullins, Tony Mullins (Denise) Wilson, Pamela Bell, and Rodney (Cindy) Bell, and grandchildren, Lauren Mullins McGuirk, Sable Mullins, Cameron Mullins, Josh Wilson, Hannah Wilson, Brandon Bell and Julianna Bell

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 31, at Evans Funeral Home with Greg Mullins and Roger Dingess, ministers, officiating. Graveside burial service will be held at 3 p.m. at Bellefonte Memorial Gardens in Flatwoods, Ky.

Visitation will be from 6-9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

The family suggests memorial contributions can be made to either Ferrellsburg Church of Christ or The Church of Christ of Flatwoods.

Evans Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Chapmanville is in charge of arrangements.
