ELBA KIRK
CHAPMANVILLE, W.Va. — Mr. Elba Tennis Kirk, 79, of Chapmanville, formerly of Harts, was born September 12, 1932, in Lincoln County, a son of the late Muscoe and Sally Workman Kirk. He departed this life Wednesday, May 30, 2012, in Logan.
Mr. Kirk was retired from General Motors, a member of the Chapmanville United Baptist Church and an avid coon hunter. He loved dogs, children and grandchildren.
Also preceding him in death was his first wife, Irene Moore Kirk, and two brothers, Joe and Jim Kirk.
Survivors include his wife, Ernestine Miller Kirk; two children, Joel (Shellie) Kirk of Chapmanville and Darla (Rick) Ogger of Toledo, Ohio; step-children, Coral (Dwight) Neal of McConnell, Thea Ferguson of Chapmanville, Tamara Spencer of Chardon, Ohio, and Joseph (Lori) Johnson of Petersburg; grandchildren, Joshua (Heather) Kirk of New Jersey, Jordan and Kelsie Kirk of Chapmanville, and Candice, Shannon and Katrina Ogger of Toledo; step-grandchildren, Jason (Tara) Neal of Bungalow Woods at Holden,, Kristin Neal of Houston, Texas, Jamie (Brock) Justice of Chapmanville, Rebecca (Jeff) Fleming of Pecks Mill, Heather Spencer of Akron, Ohio, and Seth and Slade Johnson of Petersburg; five great-grandchildren; brother, Lucian “Joker” (Donna) Kirk of Harts; sisters, Ruth (Walter) Fleming, Ola Mae (Eldon) Gore, Freda (Manasses Jr.) Hensley and Goldie Tomblin, all of Harts, and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 2, at the Evans Funeral Home and Cremation Services with Rev. Bobby Adams, Rev. Manasses Hensley Jr. and Rev. Roscoe Chafin officiating. Burial will follow in the Kirk Cemetery at Piney Fork of Harts.
Pallbearers will be family and friends.
Visitation for the family will be from noon-1 p.m. and friends may call from 1-2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
