LOGAN, W.Va. — Kathy Sue Sells, 51, of Logan, was called to heaven Saturday, June 16, 2012, while visiting Clearwater, Fla.

Born February 21, 1961, she was a daughter of the late Sam H. Easley and Pauline White.

A loving wife, devoted mother and grandmother, Kathy was a longtime employee of Logan Regional Medical Center where she worked in the surgical unit. She also assisted her husband in his private practice. Kathy was honored with both the Florence Nightingale Award and Gastroenterologist Nursing Award.

Those left to cherish her memory include her husband, Dr. Kenneth Sells; two daughters, Courtney (Mike Lambert) Summers and Emily Sells, both of Logan; two sons, Gary Chad Summers and Mathew Sells, both of Logan; two grandchildren, Madison Finley and William “Bubba” Finley of Logan; three sisters, Drema (Phillip) Workman and Judy Barker, both of Logan, and Debbie (Donald) Blankenship of Yuma; an abundance of nieces and nephews and her two cherish friends, Charles Hopson and Kathy Keyser.

Kathy was a member of the Word of Life church. Kathy was like a rose leaving a lasting impression. While the Lord saw fit to call Kathy home, she will be remembered fondly for her energetic spirit and caring heart. Earth’s loss is heaven’s gain.

Pallbearers will be Charles Hopson, Gary Chad Summers, Donald Scott Summers, James Barker, Steve Nida and Craig Blankenship.

Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Billy Mullen, Dr. Rob McCleary, Dr. Bassam Haffar, Mike Lambert, Rodney Sells and Donald Blankenship

Kathy will be sadly missed by her family, friends and her surgery family.

Services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, June 21, at the Word of Life Church with the Pastor Josh Vanhook officiating. Burial will follow at Highland Memory Gardens at Godby.

Visitation will be from 6-9 p.m. Wednesday at the church.

James Funeral Home of Aracoma is in charge of the arrangements.

Dr.Sells,Judy,Debbie and Drema.All my prayers are with you.I will always remember the fond memories of times spent with Kathy on Cassick St.She was Deb's baby sitter along with being the sweetest and most trusted kid I ever let in my home.Even though I lost track after leaving Logan I often have thought of the entire family.May God's loving arms surround each of you with his Love and Peace.
